بیوتکنولوژی دانشی برگرفته از گرایش های مختلف شاخه های علوم زیستی و یک رشته کاربردی میان رشته ای مهندسی و علوم است که در ارتباط با به کار گیری مولکول ها و فرآیندهای زیستی جهت بهبود و توسعه خدمات پزشکی، داروسازی، صنعتی، شیمیایی و کشاورزی می باشد.
